The Consequence Branch Chief and Technical Lead sit in the USACE Huntington District. The consequence team members are economists located in various USACE districts, and are assigned MMC projects. The team member develops comprehensive consequence assessments which require estimates of population at risk (PAR) and total economic impacts. These estimates are developed and documented in the consequence toolbox spreadsheet. The following economic consequence categories are evaluated:
Final and district independent quality reviewed (IQR) consequence spreadsheets (e.g., CTS) are posted to Corps of Engineers Dam and Levee Safety (CEDALS) ProjectWise project folders. Consequence data are then entered within a centralized database for projects within the USACE dam portfolio. Additionally, levee higher-level risk assessment consequence data are also loaded to the centralized database for query and analytics. Select consequence data fields are auto populated within the National Inventory for Dams (NID) and the National Levee Database (NLD) for public consumption.
